Toronto Prop Expo Anti-Harassment Policy
Aug 6, 2024The Toronto Prop Expo is dedicated to providing a harassment-free event experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion. We do not tolerate harassment of participants in any form.
1. Definition of Harassment
Harassment includes, but is not limited to:
- Offensive comments related to gender, gender identity and expression, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.
- Deliberate intimidation, stalking, or following.
- Harassing photography or recording.
- Sustained disruption of talks or other events.
- Inappropriate physical contact.
- Unwelcome sexual attention.
- Advocating for or encouraging any of the above behavior.
2. Reporting Harassment
If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a member of the event staff immediately. Event staff can be identified by their official badges or uniforms.
- On-Site Reporting: Please approach any staff member for assistance.
- Email Reporting: Contact us at report@torontopropexpo.com with details of the incident.
Event staff will be happy to help participants contact venue security or local law enforcement, provide escorts, or otherwise assist those experiencing harassment to feel safe for the duration of the event. We value your attendance.
3. Consequences of Harassment
Participants asked to stop any harassing behavior are expected to comply immediately. If a participant engages in harassing behavior, event organizers may take any action they deem appropriate, including warning the offender or expulsion from the event with no refund.
4. Addressing Grievances
If you feel you have been falsely or unfairly accused of harassment, you should notify event staff with a concise description of your grievance. Your grievance will be handled in accordance with our existing policies.
5. Policy Scope
This anti-harassment policy applies to all participants, including attendees, vendors, exhibitors, speakers, volunteers, and staff, both in person and online.
