Toronto Prop Expo Code of Conduct

1. Expected Behavior
All participants are expected to:
- Respect Others: Treat everyone with courtesy and consideration. Respect personal boundaries and diversity of perspectives.
- Act with Integrity: Be honest and fair in all interactions. Ensure your actions reflect positively on the community.
- Participate Actively: Engage constructively in discussions, workshops, and activities. Contribute to a collaborative atmosphere.
- Communicate Thoughtfully: Use welcoming and inclusive language. Address others by their preferred names and pronouns.
- Follow Event Guidelines: Adhere to all event policies, including this Code of Conduct, anti-harassment policy, and any venue-specific rules.
2. Unacceptable Behavior
Unacceptable behaviors include, but are not limited to:
- Harassment and Discrimination: Any form of harassment or discrimination based on gender, gender identity, age, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, ethnicity, or religion.
- Violence and Threats: Any form of physical or verbal violence, intimidation, or threats.
- Inappropriate Conduct: Unwelcome sexual attention, lewd or offensive behavior, and inappropriate physical contact.
- Disruption: Sustained disruption of talks, workshops, or other events.
- Unauthorized Recording: Taking photos, videos, or audio recordings of individuals without their explicit consent.
3. Reporting Violations
If you observe or experience any violations of this Code of Conduct, please report it immediately to event staff. Event staff can be identified by their official badges or uniforms.
- On-Site Reporting: Approach any staff member for assistance.
- Email Reporting: Contact us at report@torontopropexpo.com with details of the incident.
All reports will be handled confidentially and promptly.
4. Consequences of Unacceptable Behavior
Anyone asked to stop unacceptable behavior is expected to comply immediately. If a participant continues to engage in unacceptable behavior, the event organizers may take any action deemed appropriate, including:
- Warning: Issuing a formal warning to the offender.
- Expulsion: Removal from the event without a refund.
- Ban: Prohibition from attending future events.
5. Addressing Grievances
If you believe you have been falsely or unfairly accused of violating the Code of Conduct, please notify event staff with a concise description of your grievance. Your grievance will be reviewed in accordance with our policies.
