Emily Hyde is the first female Prop Master in Star Trek history, and the person responsible for every object that passes through an actor’s hands on Strange New Worlds. With credits spanning The Umbrella Academy, Twisted Metal, and beyond, she brings a wide range of production experience to her craft. In this moderated conversation, Emily takes the audience behind the camera to talk about what the job actually looks like: breaking down a script, navigating a franchise with 60 years of canon, working with fabricators and stunt departments, and getting a prop from concept to set in four weeks.
